The Issue
Residents experience the condition of our streets, illegal dumping, neglected properties, drainage, pedestrian conditions, parks and the appearance of our neighborhoods every day.
Desert Hot Springs has made progress in public safety. We should build on that progress by making sure the city also feels cleaner, better maintained and easier to take pride in.
My Approach
Set clear maintenance priorities, address recurring dumping and blight problems, track major infrastructure projects for cost and completion, and actively pursue regional, state and federal funding so local dollars can go further.
What I Would Push For
- Clear maintenance prioritiesMake routine maintenance priorities easier to understand and follow.
- Recurring dumping and blightFocus attention on repeat problem areas and the tools available to address them.
- Infrastructure trackingTrack major projects for cost and completion.
- Outside fundingActively pursue regional, state and federal funding so local dollars can go further.
How We Measure Progress
Track major infrastructure projects for cost and completion, monitor recurring problem areas and look for visible improvement in the everyday conditions residents experience.
What Is Already Happening
The City already identifies street and road infrastructure, beautification, enforcement and illegal dumping abatement as municipal priorities. The goal is to build on work already underway and make progress easier for residents to see.
